Preparation
Grounding
(Coven, Initiates and Dedicants join inside)
(Group Ohm. HP takes initiates through meditation)
(HPS takes Dedicants through meditation)
(Initiated Coven mates meet outside to cleanse circle)
Cleansing
Cleansing salt (earth), broom (air), incense (fire), water (water), blessing (spirit)
(Dedicants are led blindfolded to a bench seat located outside the circle facing to the outside, where they are to remain until they are summoned. Initiates are led blindfolded to chairs where they will remain until summoned)
Casting the Circle
(HP & HPS together)
Blessings of the Goddess shine, Bring to me thy love divine
As above so it is below, now peace and love around us grow
Be we witch, dragon, fairy or elf, Sacred space we call ourself
Three times round this circle is cast, great ones, spirits from the past
Witness it and guard with might, so shall it be, this circle is tight
Calling the Quarters

(Earth steps forward with branches and leaves rustling in the breeze.)

Air - HP - Element of the East join us this night to witness this rite.
(Air steps forward with wind chimes singing)

Fire - HPS - Element of the South join us this night to witness this rite.
(Fire steps forward to the beating of a drum)

(Water steps forward to sound of a rain stick)

Invocation of the God
HP - Blazing Sky Father, You who are the king of the gods
Lord of the sun, Master of all that is wild and free

The Summoning
HP - Bring the candidates to us
(Initiates are led to the edge of the circle near the Southern quarter where Fire is holding a staff to bar entrance)
HPS - Why have you come? (Initiate responds)
HP - It is our will to recognize you.
HPS - But still you must speak the watchwords of this circle.
(Initiates responds with “In perfect love and perfect trust” The staff is lifted and Initiate is then led to the center of the circle)
The Challenge
HP - Before you begin your journey as an initiate of this Coven, you must remember and speak your vows.
(Initiate speaks memorized passage and is then led to Spirit where they will begin the journey)
The Journey
(Cord is placed around the waist of the initiates by Spirit.)
(Initiate is then led to the first quarter)
South - I am fire. Who art thou?
(Await answer from initiate and offer token. Initiate is then guided into lighting of the quarter candle)
May you be as a fire. Transforming your inner refuse for growth and illumination. To give light, warmth and power to others. To trigger their inner light within. Inspiring others to recognize their inner learning to reunite with the great source of light.
East - I am Air. Who art thou? (await answer from initiate) Louder please, tell me again what is your name?
(Await answer from initiate and offer token. Initiate is then guided into lighting of the quarter candle)
May you be as the wind. Bringing the breath of life into stagnant places. Blowing away dust and debris to reveal inner light and clear mind. Always searching, playing in trees. Refreshing, giving and free.
West - I am water. Who art thou? (Await answer) Louder please, tell me again what is your name? (Await answer) Again.
(Await answer from initiate and offer token. Initiate is then guided into lighting of the quarter candle)
May you be as a river. Strong, serene, giving and containing life. Being as a life force to others. Helping to cleanse and purify them. Flowing easily around obstacles on an unceasing progression toward the great sea of illumination. Carrying with you those who chose to come your way.
North - I am earth. Who art thou? (Await answer) Louder please, tell me again what is your name? (Await answer) Again.
(Await answer from initiate and offer token. Initiate is then guided into lighting of the quarter candle)
May you be as a tree. Growing in strength and wisdom. Nourishing yourself with the light of the sun, the food of the earth, and the drink of the water and the breath of the air. Ever reaching up, as much as you cast your roots down. Giving shelter and comfort to those who pass by. Always being there for someone to hug when they need it. A solid friend to talk to.
Center - I am spirit. Who art thou? (Await answer) Louder please, tell me again what is your name? (Await answer) Again. (Await answer) Again.
(Await answer from initiate and offer token. Initiate is then guided into lighting of the quarter candle)
May you find within your heart unconditional love for all beings, in all realms. May you acknowledge and reunite with those beings you have driven into hiding through your ignorance. And may you once again learn to work together as a caretaker of the earth, as it was meant to be.

As we speak this charge, may the golden light of love’s wisdom and compassion spread out from our hearts, to melt away all fear, anger, shame, and blame from the heart of all beings. And in turn, may their hearts fill with the golden light of love’s wisdom and compassion that we may send rays of healing light to each other and to the earth.
HP - Do you, (name), accept this challenge? Response: “I do”
HPS - Then awaken now as a member of this Coven. Look around you to those whom you will now know as “brother and sister” Be as one with us.
(Blindfold is removed from initiate)
Naming and Empowering
HP - All power comes from within you, and from the Lady and the Lord, who are within and all around us. Yet we may share our powers with one another, for the good of the Craft. We will our power unto you.
(Quarters gather around the initiate and place one hand upon initiate from forehead to knee, then channels their energy into the initiate. Quarters then return to their places)
Presentation to the Quarters
HPS - Behold, and offer blessings upon, (name). The newest initiate to our Coven.
(Initiate is taken around to the quarters again for hugs and blessings. Then led to chairs placed next to the alter where they remain until circle is open.)
